Menuinfo

A useful, but not essential utility

Menuinfo, programmed by Dirk Hagedorn, is a desk accessory. It displays different information on your ST's menu bar. Things such as the time, date and amount of free memory are all options. It also gives you the option of having an on screen Caps lock indicator - a surprisingly useful addition.

The Menuinfo main dialog box

All of the options are available from the above box, the accompanying documentation contains all the relevant shortcuts enabling you to set the system up how you would like it. The program also has a simple screensaver built in along with an alarm clock.

The Menuinfo display

There is also the option of having the information displayed in a window, this may be preferable to some people.

There are a few problems however. One of which being compatibility with some programs including Papyrus. The system sometimes just freezes, your only option being to switch off an start all over again.

Although the program is not essential, it is still a useful addition to any Atari system. If you can live with the compatibility problems, then I recommend it.
